General questions for tourist Visa

Dear Consular Representative,

I am a French citizen, working in China for many years and having my close friend from the Philipinnes. I am a resident permit holder.

I would like to invite her for one month holiday in Shanghai and we will need to apply for a tourist Visa.

We will be in Cebu for 10 days holiday in July, is it enough time to apply for the one month tourist visa?

Also, do I really need to purchase the round trip plane ticket to Shanghai, what about there is a refusal for her tourist visa? I may lost this ticket?

Regarding the bank certificate, what should we provide exactly? Do you need to see the balance of her account or mine? If yes, how much should be the minimum amount on it? I have several account: China/Hong Kong, from which one you need a certificate?

Thank you by advance for your help.

Dear Alexis,

Provided all the required documents have been submitted to the Chinese consulate in Cebu, your friend may get the L visa on the fourth working day after application. But there is possiblities of refusal, as you know, China and Philipine are in tense relationship these days, the visa policy may be strict.

The round ticket is needed to apply the visa. If the visa is refused, regularly you may buy ticket that can be refunded.

Her bank certificate is needed to prove that your friend can afford all the expenses needed in China, and there is no clear minimum amount, but it should be enough to cover her expenditure in China. If you will sponsor her trip, your bandk certificate is required, either China or HK one is ok.

Good luck!
