China Tourist VISA in St. Petersburg

Hello, I have hotel bookings and transport in and out of the country booked (train in, ferry out).

Sadly I have been turned down in Estonia because I do not have an Estonian resident permit. I will try Finland tomorrow but fear the same might happen.

Do you need to have a Russian residence permit in order to apply in St. Petersburg? This information seems to suggest not. I also heard that you need a blood test to get one here - is this true?

Thanks for any help, Peter :)

Hi, Peter, you are a United Kingdom passport holder, right? Applying in Finland and St.Peterburg both need residence permit. If you apply in this two place, the official may refuse your application.

I suggest you to firstlly enter HK, and apply there.

No blood test is needed for tourist L application.

By the way, this website is only a site of a travel agency, not the official website of Chinese embassy.

Good luck!

Hi Melissa,

The Chinese embassy in Helsinki were actually happy to give me one. From what you say I guess I was lucky and they would have been within their rights to refuse my application.

Thanks for your help,
Peter
