About:Airlines & China Airports

Must i collect my luggage?

I arrive Shanghai on 4 June by MU544 at 0550 hrs arriving at T1. Then I am taking flight MU9177 at 0815 leaving for Changchun at T2. May I know if I need to collect my baggage at T1 and re-check in at T2?

Hi, since the flight MU544 and MU9177 are flight in same air company, normally you do not need to carry your luggage when you connect your flight, but you'd better contact the air company for correct info.

Here is what I was told by one of the airport officers in Singapore. If I am given two boarding passes while checking in my luggage at Singapore Changi Airport I will not have to collect my luggage at Shanghai Pudong Airport. If for some reason, I am given only one boarding pass I will have to collect my luggage from Shanghai Pudong Airport and re-check in. Hope this helps :)
