Visa requirements to China for two transits -new requirements?

I have just been told by my travel agent that my daughter and i need visa to China for our transit through Guangzhou and Beijing. We fly with China Southern Airlines from Sydney to Copenhagen in June and do not intend to go outside the airport. Is it right that new visa rules have been inplemented when you have got more than one transit in China? During the virtual same trip last year, we were not required to have a visa.

Thank you for your response.

Hi Marie, there is no official requirement on this change released on internet or any site of Airlines and embassy/consulates. But I do have heard some others who are in the same situation like yours.

Before you apply for a visa in person from the Chinese embassy or consulate near your residence, you'd better consult with your airline company. For visa application itself, it is not necessary to use any agency.
