Hi, Dania, different embassy/consulate has its own consular jurisdicion over different consular districts, so could you please tell me your residing place? Knowing your residing place, I can give your exact answer where you should apply.

Hi Melissa,

I am a Canadian citizen and have been travelling for the last 5 months and will continue to be travelling around the world until I arrive in China in October - hence why I have to apply for my Chinese tourist visa while abroad (in S.A.). Thanks!

Yes, you can apply for a China visa in South Africa, through either Chinese embassy or consulate, so the nearest is better. Prepare two extra documents: Supplementary Visa Application Form V.2011B and South Africa Residence Permit (or entry record).
