About:China Visa Application in USA

Do we need double entry visas?

Two family members are coming from Dubai UAE into Beijing ...to meet up with four family members coming from Seattle WA from the US. 3 days later we are all flying to Hong Kong. Can you tell me if we need a double entry visa?
I'm aware that a normal US tourist doesn't need a visa for Hong Kong but do you need one to get to Macau?

US passport holders are not required visa to Macao for 30 days. Hongkong and Macao have their own visa policy. So, if you will only enter China mainland once (not enter China mainland again after visiting Hong Kong and Macao), a single entry visa is enough. Otherwise, you need to apply for a double entry China visa.
