About:Chinese Embassy in France

I am U.S. citizen. Am I able to obtain an F visa for China while in France?

I will be traveling to China around mid-August to teach English. I am a United States citizen with a plain, ordinary passport. I am leaving for a trip to France in a few days and will be there until mid-August, when I planned to fly directly from France to China. I do not have a French residence visa or any other visa. I think I could obtain an "L" visa, without being a French residence. The question is ...
Would I be able to obtain and "F" visa to China from France without being a resident of France?

1. Chinese Embassy or Consulate in France regularlly do not accept visa application of citizens from a third country without residence proof, so I am afraid that you could not obtain a L visa or F visa in France and you have to apply in USA.
2. To remind you, If you teach in China for a period of more than 6 months, a Z visa is needed.
