About:Chinese Embassy in Italy

US Citizen traveling in Italy

I hold a U.S. passport. I will be in Rome on a trip and wish to travel from Rome to Shanghai before I return to the U.S. May I apply for a Chinese tourist visa at the Rome Embassy?

Since you are only a visitor in Rome, you can not apply a China L Visa in Rome, so you have to apply at your own country. You can mail all the required documents to someone or travel agency in USA to apply for you on your behalf, so that you need not go back to USA.
