How quickly can you get a tourist visa

I have been living in China for 3.5 years running a charity. I have had a work visa, but now I am leaving the organization but want to come back and forth to China as a tourist for the next year. I will be in Ireland next month and my work visa will run out while I am there. How long would it take me to get tourist visa once I apply?
