Applying for China Tourist Visa from Thailand

I am an Irish Citizen. I will be visiting Thailand in January 2013. I would like to apply for my China Tourist Visa while I am in Thailand. Can I do this? What are the requirements? I plan to visit China in March 2013. Thank you.

Yes, you can apply for a China tourist visa in Thailand. Requirements are as follows:
1. The original passport with at least 6-month validity.
2. Visa Application Forms V2011A and V2011B.
3. One passport photo.
4. the Round-trip Airline Ticket, Hotel Booking in China
5. Valid Thai visa or residence permit or other document to prove your legal status in Thailand.

BTW, a single entry China visa is valid for 3 months from issue date, so, you can apply in your country either if your stay in Thailand is not longer than this.

Points 1 to 3, yes.
Point 4. It was not required for my 'L' visa, (2011). When you come to the part of your itinery, just list the locations you'll be travelling to.
Point 5. They will get your legal status from your passport.
Although your visa will be for 3 months, (90 days), you will have to extend it with the PSB after 30 days. So, that gives you 30 days, plus two extensions = 90 days. It's costly, beuracratic and time consuming.
