Mexican passport expires on Oct. 11, 2012, can I still visit China Visiting China May 13-24, 2012

I have a Mexican passport but study in USA. I plan to visit China with a group of my USA university students led by a professor to China May 13-24, 2012 for 12 days. My Mexican passport expires on Oct. 11, 2012, I arrive in China on May 14, and leave China on May 24, 2012. It is OK? Please let me know since it is too late for me to get my Mexican passport renewed now. Thank you.
