My mother had a stroke yesterday. Do I need invitation letter to get visa?

My mother had stroke on April 6, my sister phoned me last night at 0135 am and ask me to go back to Beijing right away. Dr. Said my mother can only live for 10 days. Can I need to wait for visa before I go or I can get arrival visa at Beijing airport?

Monday April 9 your office is open? Thank you.

It's possible for you to get an on-arrival visa at Beijing Airport with the notice of critical illness of your mother by the hospital.
