About:Foreign Consulates in Hong Kong

Apply Visa in Hong Kong

I am a citizen of India and I currently reside in Guangzhou on an F Visa valid for 1 year, my employer has already applied for my Z visa but it is still under process.

My employer wants to send me on a business trip to South America and most if not all countries require me to get a visa prior to my arrival. Can I apply for a visa in Hong Kong if I don't have a Hong Kong ID card?

Whenever you apply for a visa the consulate/embassy webpage tells you to apply at the nearest location to your city and since I live in Guangzhou, that is Hong Kong. However, I have heard people have been refused visas in Hong Kong because they don't hold ID cards.

If that is the case what is the solution? Do I apply at a location in mainland China? Will they allow me since I don't hold a Z visa?

It is not an option for me to go back to India as my employer feels that will waste too much time.

Please offer me your solution, I will be visiting most countries in South America

You are right that you should apply for the visa from the consulate of South Africa in HK, since it is near to you. Yo umay contact the consulate directly to get the exact info. for your visa application. I don't think it will matter that you don't have a China Z visa.

Sorry for my misreading, but no matter it is South Africa or South America, the thing is the same for you. If the country of South America you will go has its consulate in Hk, you may just apply for the visa there. If it happened to be that the country doesn't has its consulate in Hk, you will have to apply for the visa from the Embassy in Beijing.

May I know which countries of South America you will visit? Maybe I may provide you some specific info. about some of the countries' immigation regulations after you give me the names.
