Will there be any problem if I go to China before visa expiration but come back with an expired visa

My visa expires on 4/27/2012. If I go to visit my parents in China before 4/27, say like 4/16, and stay there for about a month, come back 5/14/2012, will there be any problem for me for carrying an expired visa upon leaving China? I would appreciate your help with the reassurance that there will be no problem or I need to renew the visa before going. Thanks.

I'm afraid you've mixed up the validity and the duration of a China visa. The validity of the visa refers to the last date that you are permitted to enter China, while the duration is the period of time that you are allowed to stay in China after the entry.
In other words, once you enter China, the visa will expire, but it is still legal for you to stay in China within the duration aprroved on your visa. Hope I have made it clear to you.
For your visa, I don't think it will matter that you enter China on April 16 and exit on 5/14/ if the expiration date of your visa is 4/27 and the granted duration is 30 days.
