is there a fast train from chengdu to beijinghow long does it take ?

I am thinking of a train ride from Chengdu to Beijing. And from Beijing to another city and back toChengdu in an arc, to see more of the country. Any suggestions?

There are only K-train and T-train running from Chengdu to Beijing. It generally takes about 1 day 3 hours to 1 day 6 hours.  I suggest you take flight between Beijing and Chengdu to save time.
