About:China Consulate in Houston

Marriage in China

I want to marry my girlfriend in China. I have been told that I will need a notarized single certificate and a notarized copy of my divorce papers in both Chinese and English. Do you provide the translated copies? If not, who must I get in touch with.

China Consulate in Houston don't provide such service, but you can contact them to find some practical help. You may also ask for help from your local foreign affairs office.

The state that I was divorced in does not notarize divorces, they only certify them. Is this going to be a problem?

Nobody but the municipal Civil Affairs Bureau of China can give a final answer to whether a certification of your marriage status by your Embassy in China will be accepted for your marrige registration in China or not.
