Bringing Yuan into China

Is there a limit to how many Yuan, or CDN $ we may bring into China? We will be traveling in China for 17 days and are concerned the our Credit Union debit cards may not be accepted by the ATMs in Shanghai, Xi'an and Beijing.

According to the entry rule of China Customs, a foreigner can take 5,000 US dollars (or equivalent in any foreign currency) or 20,000 CNY to China. If you have more than this amount, related documents will be needed and you need to declare to the customs.
