You can find a local Notary Office in Malaysia to translate your Malaysian marriage certificate and the birth certificate of your son, then make them authenticated by Malaysian Foreign Affairs Ministry and Chinese embassy in Kuala Lumpur or Chinese Consulate in Kuching.

The Malaysian marriage certificate and birth certificate are very useful for you to apply for a residence visa in China, maybe you can't get a residence visa in China, but you will be issued a new family visit visa L visa with 180 days stay duration in China.
