About:Chinese Embassy in U.S.A.

If I work less than 30 days /year in china, will I still need a work permit (Z visa)?

I'm accompanying my husband and currently hold a resident permit. Someone told me if I work less than 30 days out of the year, I will not need to issue a z visa, is this true? If so, where can I get more info on this?
