About:Marriage Registration in China

are residence permits necessary if married to a chinese national?

If I am a foreign worker and am working legally with a residence permit I renew each year, what would happen if I marry a Chinese National?
Do I still need a residence permit to live here with my spouse?
And what happens if i no longer have work? Can i still stay in the country with my spouse?

If you marry a Chinese national, you still need a residence permit to work and live here with your spouse. if you no longer have work, you can stay in China with your spouse, you can apply for a L visa for family visit at the local exit-entry administrative department of public security bureau, the L visa can be extended for 3 times, not more than 90 days duration of stay per time.
