Applying for Chinese business visa

According to the invitation letter from our Chinese business partners, we, me and our Director General, want to apply for multiple-entry visa to China-mainland and to Taiwan for the period from March, 17, 2012. I have called to the conulate contact telephone numbers and know what type of documents should be prepaired to apply fo visa. After preparing them, should we register online for interviewing in consulate or what are next steps in getting the visa? Because on the USEmbassy website all steps for getting visa are pictured and described in text and for application to Chinese visa we have less information. Thank you!
