Now, the visa rule for Filipino applicants becomes more and more strict, if you are unemployed, the embassy is afriad that you come to find work or will work illegally. Where do you stay now? If you are in Beijing now, it is impossible for the travel agency to get a L visa for you in the Philippines.

i'm here in the philippines, applying for tourist visa for 4 days just to visit great wall of china in beijing. i've been to some other asian countries like singapore, hk, and malaysia for sight seeing also before so me and my friend decided to visit china this time..i don't have intention to work there illegally. i have work last year but i decided to stop for a while because i have other plan to put up a small business that's why i am unemployed right now. so this is true that the embassy would return your application even you completed all the requirements just because you are unemployed. so all the unemployed don't have the chance now to visit other country even they have the means to do so? i'll wait for the reply thanks jade for the immediate response..

Did you provide your return air ticket? I find that if you apply for the China visa for the first time, you also have to provide Original NBI clearance valid for travel abroad. I don't think your application was refused because of your unemployment. I advise you go to the China Embassy to know about this and submit your application again in person.

thanks steve for the reply, i have all the requirements including my NBI clearance valid for travel abroad, and according to my travel agent they will provide my hotel voucher and air ticket. actually we have itenerary already from a travel agency and because they have a visa assistance, they told me that they will be the one to submit my application to china embassy, according to them the embassy did not accept my application because of the reason the reason why should i travel this time that i don't have work, i am unemployed. yes i believe you steve that the embassy would deny my application because of that. maybe the liason officer of that agency did not submit it to the embassy that's what i'm thinking right now. yes, i will be the one to go there to find out regarding this matter..thank you so much...

Unemployment is not a reason for refusal of Chinese Visa. Provided you have submitted all documents to prove you can sustain your stay in China. Another tip is if you have travelled to several countries prior your China Visa application is of big help. Savings is reviewed base on how long your vacation will be in China and how much will be left of you after your trip. Visa officers of other countries ex. USA, its not how much you have in your savings, but how much will be left of you after the trip. In case you will fall short on your savings, tedency is you will engage yourself in employment in the country of destination.
