Letter of invitation for the "Z" work visa. How long does it take?

Hi, I have sent all the necessary documents and medical tests to my future employer. The point is that it has already been over 2 months since they got them (11 weeks). My employer informed me that the medical tests were OK and were approved and that I am waiting for the invitation letter only (informed me 6-7 weeks ago).

How long more might it take? Is there anyone I can contact in China (except of the employer)?

My future work place should be Hangzhou.

I would really appreciate your help with finding an answer to how long it might take. I have been waiting already few months (my first medical tests, which I have sent to China were lost by post) and now I am waiting for 11 weeks since they arrived there.

Shall I better look for a new job elsewhere or still wait? I really do not know what is happening with those procedures and I cannot ask every few days my employer what is wrong. You would definately get annoyed as well if someone would be asking you all the time when will the invitation letter be processed, so I do not wish to bother them too much either.

I would greatly appreciate any response from you!

Mike, it's true that it takes a few months to process the alien employment license and the invitation letter of a duly authorized unit, maybe your employer can't prepare all the requirements, such as business license have passed the Annual Examination.

The whole procedure is:
1. submit documents to Exit-Entry Administrative Department of Hangzhou Public Security Burea for approval
2. apply for Alien Employment License from Hangzhou Human Resources & Social Security Bureau
3. apply for invitation letter from Hangzhou Foreign Trade Economy Corporation Bureau
