My wife needs to renew her Chinese passport. Her current passport expires on April 25, 2012. Can she renew it before April 25? What does she need to bring with her to the Chinese Consulate in New York? Thank you.

Yes, she can renew her Chinese passport before April 25, 2012. She needs to bring the following documents to Chinese consulate in New York in person to submit application: 1. truly filled Chinese passport application form 2. four passport photos taken in recent 6 months 3. the original and photocopies of her Chinese passport 4. the original and photocopies of U.S. residence permit  It takes 10 working days or longer.
