About:China Visa Application Procedure and Fee

I am an Australian citizen visiting Guangdong soon but I only have British passport.

Can I still enter China after obtaining the 'Single-entry' visa?

If you only enter Guangdong, Mainland China once, a single entry visa is sufficient for your trip. If you visit Guangdong, then go to Hong Kong/Macau, then return to Guangdong, you need a double entry visa. Can you tell me more details about your trip?

Thanks Emma
More details about my trip. I will be visiting a friend in Guangdong, staying for approximately 2 weeks. I will not be travelling to Hong Kong/Macau but may leave Guangdong to visit my friend's family inside mainland China.

Tony, a single-entry visa is sufficient for your trip if you travel within Mainland China.

Thanks Emma. I have another question.
My friend in China will be visiting me in Australia around mid April/May. She is confused about having to obtain a 'police check' (she has been informed by a travel agent in China) apparently required by Australian Federal Police. Is this true and if so, how does she get it from China? thanks again for the great help.

She can get it from a local police station in China, then make it notarized by a local Notary Public, then certificate by local foreign affairs office and Australia embassy/consulate in China.
