Short stop on Cruise Ship

I will be on a cruise ship that stops in Shanghai for 8hrs. Do I need a visa if I do not leave the ship? I have visited Shanghai before

A visa is not required if you do not leave the ship. A disembarkation card will be required if you leave the ship to visit Shanghai.
