Getting visitors visa during Chinese New Year ?? when shut down Hong Kong

I was going to travel to Hong Kong and visit friens on January 26 but am told I may not be able to acquire a visa given the week long holiday. I am having trouble finding if I can get one as I have in the past in Hong ong. The office in Alberta 1. is in Calgary which means driving 6 hours plus they will not commit to having ready by weekend but also informed me that they were closed all of next week. Does anyone have a solution

The Commissioner's Office of China Foreign Affairs Ministry in Hong Kong will also closed on January 23, 24, 25 for Spring Festival. It can't issue a China tourist visa to you. It is not a good idea for you to obtain a China visa in Hong Kong.

If you are a Canadian and visit Hong Kong for less than 90 days, you don't need a visa to Hong Kong.

Now, I'm a little puzzled by you, I'm not clear you want to obtain a Hong Kong visa or China visa.
