About:China Visa Application in UK

UK passport holders visiting Hainan island via cruise boat

Hello, We 2 are visiting Hainan Island as part of a cruise tour this March 2012, and I know we have to have a Visa as the cruise company, Holland America have told us so. However I'm confused. Can I complete an on-line application V2011A form and then send off the required documents as per Lisa's query, or as we are only there for a short time are their different rules?

Roz, I'm puzzled by you? Can you clarify your question? Where are you going to apply China tourist visa? Do you want to send your application by post?

My husband and I are travelling via Singapore on a cruise with Holland America ship to the Far East including visits to Vietnam, Cambodia and Hainan Island. We sail on18th March 2012. On the cruise ship we will be able to buy visa's from the staff for Vietnam and Cambodia, but will have to organise our own visa to visit Hainan Island. (they have told us that) I don't know how or where to apply for the visa as there is much conflicting advice. Do I download the form from the internet and then post it please? Many thanks for your advice.

According to your statement, it is possible for you to apply for a 30 days visa on arrival in Hainan Island. To improve the tourism and economy of Hainan island, China government gives priority to Hainan island, it is easy to get a visa on arrival in Hainan. When you arrive in Hainan, just show your passport and the cruise itinerary issued by the cruise company.

Hi, We are also travelling with Holland America and have been told by our travel agent that with British passports we can obtain a 'group visa' onboard the cruise ship (US$ 45 each) to enable us to go ashore at Hainan Island. I trust that this helps.
