Is it possible to enter China from Nepal, driving own vehicle for Indian passport holder ?

We are planning road trip from Mumbai to Europe via China and return. We shall have carnet de passage for our car and international driving licenses. We are open to have Chinese guide/driver or can be part of tour organized for '2' of us by Chinese tour operators.

You can enter Tibet China from Nepal, so you also need Tibet Travel Permit apart from Chinese visa. The permit should be arranged by a travel agent. It is very complicated for foreigner driving their own vehicle to Tibet. Anyway, you may enquiry this tour operator for the possibility and visa issue. travelchinaguide.com|tours
