Applying for a work visa while in China

I was wondering if you could help me, I am currently living in Shenzhen and have a tourist visa. I have recently got married to a Chinese national and I have been offered a job with a company.

I am looking at applying for a work visa – but do I have to go back to my home country (UK) or can I apply for a work visa in Hong Kong?. I have been issued all the relevant documentation through the company that wants to employ me and passed the medical check.

It would be hard for me to travel back to the UK and leave my wife here in China.

I would be grateful if you could give me information about applying for the work visa and all the documents I would need.
