6-month F Visa for self-employed person: what documentation needed?

I am self-employed and would like to spend 6 months in China travelling to a few different cities and looking for clients for my business. What documents do I need to get a 6-month F visa for this purpose?

According to your situation, it is impossible for you to get a F visa because you don't have a host company or factory which can send you an invitation letter. The other alternative option is you apply for a tourist visa to China, but the stay duration is generally 30 days stay duration, you can't stay in Mainland Chian for 6 months continuousely.
