How to get a Chinese visa for an Australian living in rural Japan with a Japanese Identification crd

Hi, I am an English/Australian passport holding person who lives in Kitami, Hokkaido. How is the best way to get a Chinese visa. Am travelling 29th of Feb but my Australian Passport (that has my spouse Japanese visa in it) is being renewed and will not be back for three weeks (via Tokyo embassy). My wife and child luckily have Japanese passports.

You need to get a Chinese visa through China Consulate in Sapporo because Hokkaido is under its consular districts. You have to wait for the issuance of the new Australia passport because it has the spouse Japanese visa in it. The embassy will be closed from January 23, 2012 to January 25, 2012 for Spring Festival, once you get new Australian passport, please apply for China visa as soon as possible.
