Public transport Changping-Beijing Airport

Jamie,
Thanks very much for your prompt reply. I'm sorry but my question wasn't clear; I should have asked for advice about PUBLIC transport only. I will not have a car. What do you think.? Or should I just accept that I must travel via the city centre?

I have a second question which you may be able to help with. I will arrive in China at Chengdu airport on 29 March and would like to get to Kunming as quickly as possible. Lucky Air has a flight to Kunming at 1655 that afternoon which would be fine, but the website is only in Chinese and so I cannot use it to buy a ticket. Is there another way I could get a ticket for this flight before I leave home and how much would it cost? Paying in Chinese currency is not a problem with my credit card.

Well, in this case, you can hire a cab from Changping to Beijing Airport and ask for the taxi driver to take the Beijing-Tibet Expressway to the 5th Ring Road North and finally take the Airport Expressway to reach Beijing Airport.

Here is a website for you to book the flight ticket: https://www.travelchinaguide.com/china-flights/
You can also find detailed information about that flight through that website.
