About:China Visa

I am staying at a friends home. Do I need to register with local authorities?

I have been here for a month now and have not registered with local authorities. Do I need to register where I am staying? Is there any fine involved in not doing so?

Foreigners staying in China are asked to register with the local Security Bureau. But many do not do this and they are not fined for not doing this.
