You should get an Affidavit of Single Status signed before a notary public or a lawyer;

Secondly be legalized by the local provincial authorities;
Address of authentication Office of B. C. Province:
Order in Council Administration
Ministry of Attorney General
Room 208A 553 Superior St.
Victoria, British Columbia
V8V 1X4
Tel: 250-387-4376 Fax: 250-387-4349

Finally be authenticated by the Chinese Consulate-General in Vancouver.

Hi> I 'm a Canadian and was recently married in China. It's actually quite stream-lined here. As the original post stated you simply need a legalized paper from Canada stating you are either single or divorced legally in Canada. That's all you need and the Chinese Mrs. requires the same from the China officials. After that it's a cost of about $50.00 Cdn., and you're on your way. You simply arrange an appointment at the local Chinese marriage registry, produce the applicable papers which have to have been previously translated into Chinese ( all kinds of places that can do this in China), you then show up at the office as mentioned and they say a few words, take a picture and a single fingerprint and you're married offically. No rings, no suits, no handshakes or witnesses required !! Good luck.
