Duration of Dependent Visa for wife of the Master students

Hello everyone,
I from Nepal doing master degree course and my wife has arrived China on dependent visa (L visa) for 3 months.

I have 2 years left to finish the the master degree and she wants to live here for 2 years also.
Can someone give me detail information whether my wife can apply for 2 year dependent visa.

I was told by only 6 months visa will be provided (at the most 2 time extension). Is the true ?
What is process of getting maximum amount of visa for her.

Thank you

Your wife can't apply for 2 years dependent visa because you study in China. It's true that your wife can only be issued a L visa with at most 180 days study duration. When her present visa will expire, she can go to the local exit-entry administrative department of public security bureau to apply for visa extension.

Thank you that was very helpful.
Does that means she need to return to her country after 6 months ? Can she reapply again for L-Visa ? Thank you

Yes, it means that she needs to return to her country after 6 months stay in China. She can reapply again for L visa in her country.
