About:Chinese Consulate in New York

i'm from Uzbekistan and I'm on vacation in New York, can i request a tourist visa at this consulate?

Temporary foreign visitors with a valid US visa may apply for Chinese visa to the Visa Office of the Chinese Consulate in NEW York. The visa officer may ask you to provide the original and photocopy of you valid US Visa and make a decision on whether to issue the visa case by case.
