Do Thai's need to get a transit visa for a 6 hour layover in Shanghai?

I hold an onward ticket to Canada. As well, would I need another transit visa on my return flight which has a stopover in Shanghai before finishing in Bangkok?

if you won't leave the airport during the 6 hours layover in Shanghai, a transit visa is not required.
