How long it takes for Hong Kong Visa processing?

I have duly submitted my Hong Kong Visa application to the Chinese Embassy in Ghana and is being five weeks now and i still don't have my visa. I am schedule to to attend a meeting in Hong Kong next week wednesday October 26, 2011. Please what can i do since the Chinese Embassy keep telling me they have not receive my visa application response from the Hong Kong Immigration Department.
