About:Chinese Embassy in Netherlands

We are a Swedish / Brisih couple, do we need a transit visa for a transit in Guangzhou

We are currently living in the Netherlands and will stop in Guangzhou on our way to Australia. We will be arriving at Guangzhou around 15 o'clock and leave 22 o'clock the next day. Will we need a transit visa or can we get that at the airport?

Many thanks

A transit visa is not required if you won't leave the Guangzhou airport during the 7 hours stopover.

Sorry, my last reply is wrong, you both need a transit visa because the layover in Guangzhou is more than 24 hours. You can try to get a stay permit at the airport. However, sometimes, without the valid visa, the airline company will refuse passengers to board the plane.
