Travel time between Beijing and Beijing West

Hi!
According to CNVOL the K7712 from Chengde arrives at Beijing Railway Station at 6.19 PM. Is it optimistic to believe that this leaves enough time to catch the Z53 or Z19 to Xi’an that leaves Beijing West around 8 PM? (or the T43 might be a better option for me leaving 30 minutes later). (BTW, what’s the difference between these trains?). (I’m a backpacker used to moving fast between locations:-)
Thanks for your help!

Usually, the Z-train only has soft-sleeper and soft-seats, and the T-train is equipped with cheaper hard-sleeper and hard-seat besides of them.
The night train Z19, Z53 and T43 do takes around 12 hours from Beijing to Xian.
Since 6pm is the traffic peak time in downtown Beijing, train T43 leaving at 8:30pm is suggested in case of any delay on the way from Beijing Railway Station to Beijing West Railway Station.
Ps: there are many buses running between these two railway stations, taking around 50 minutes at least. On the other hand, you could take subway Line2 from Beijing Railway Station to get to Changchunjie station, and then take a city-bus at Exit B to the west railway station.
