I'm confused by your question, do you mean the organiser in China applies for a Journalist Visa for you at the China embassy in Singapore? You just go to collect the visa?

As I know, you need to submit the application to the China Visa Application Service Center in Singapore, the organizer can't get a China visa for you from the embassy.

The requirements for Journalist Visa Application:
(i) Original passport

(ii) One completed Visa Application Formwith a recently-taken passport photo stuck on it.

(iii) Applicants for J-1 visa (resident journalist) should provide a visa notification issued by the Information Department of the Chinese Foreign Ministry (the media employing the journalist should apply for the visa notification from the Information Department of the Chinese Foreign Ministry).

(iv) Applicants for J-2 visa (journalists visiting China for temporary news coverage) should provide a visa notification issued by competent Chinese authorities.
