What visa can a person who is in China as tourist have if somebody offers him job as an employee

In a primary school? Can he process that visa in China? Can the owner of the school give him a letter of invitation to work and use it to show in the visa office to change his visa status? What visa status can he possibly have? and how many months?

It is very hard for aliens to change tourist visa into work visa within Mainland China. Once the primary school provides him a job and the necessary documents for work visa application (Alien Employment License, Official Invitation Letter issued by Bureau of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation), he has to return to his home country to apply work visa.

The work visa is generally single entry, valid for 3 months.
