Where should I start for this journey.  Any advice for travelling alone and in late November?

It will be winter scenery in late November. It is a bit cold and need to bring warm coat. Lijiang bus station has regular bus to Qiaotou (桥头). Not frequent, so make sure of the departure time in advance. The hire van to Tiger Leaping Gorge from Qiaotou, about 20 minutes. Back to Qiaotou and there is regular bus to Shangri-La (also known as Zhongdian 中甸)。
