About:Chinese Consulate in Brisbane

Where should I get a proof that I'm single, from Austalia where I'm living or England Where I was born?

I wish to be married in China,I am Single and have never never been married. I contacted the Births deaths and marriages registry in Australia as i am an Australian citizen and was told by them i must contact the registry in England as that is where i was born, Is this correct? I just need to prove i am allowed to marry.

I'm not so clear how things are going in other countries. But if I'm a Chinese citizen born in another country, I still need to get the certificate from China, where I'm regristered. So I think you'd better further confirm with the Australian department before going for the England department. BTW, if you can get it from the Australian side, it should be a 'No Record of Marriage (Single Status) Certificate'.
