How does a U.S. citizen in Idaho apply for a visa to China for 6 days.

You should submit the requirements to Embassy of China in Washington DC to apply for a China visa. The basic requirements include: passport valid for at least 6 months with at least two blank pages, completely filled visa application form, one recent passport photo.
After submiting all the requirements, one usually get the visa in 4 working days.
