You need the following requirements  to obtain a China tourist visa to visit your friend in Guangdong: passport, visa application form, one recent passport photo and other deemed necessary requiremetns by the embassy or consulates. You can also get the visa in Hong kong through the travel agency CTS or Visa Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China in Hong Kong SAR.
