what is the earliest train to shanghai from hangzhou?

I am flying Jetstar from Singapore to Hangzhou in Feb 2012 arriving Hangzhou Xiaoshan Airport at 11.35pm.  I have not book any hotels yet.  How should I do? Go to Shanghai by bullet train first or go and check in at hotel first?  What is the earliest train to Shanghai from Hangzhou?

You'd better book a hotel in Hangzhou. Then you can stay in Shanghai for one night and then take high speed train the next morning to Shanghai. The earli8est train departs at 01:49 from Hangzhou to Shanghai, but it is not the bullet train. It takes about 2.5 hours.
