Fees for luggage exceeding 20kg

Hello everyone,
I am planning to take the G3 high speed train from Beijing to Shanghai. I will have 30kg of luggage which exceeds the free limit of 20kg for the g-trains. Does anybody know how much the extra fees will be per kg? Is the luggage being weighed or should I just try to take it with me?
Regards,
Simon

I have not heard that the luggage would be weighed at the train station. For the fees of checked luggage, you would better consult the staff working at train station.

Most of the time they don't weigh it; just make it look like it's not too heavy. I've only had one time where they made me weigh it and pay the extra. The price depends on where you get off and on (acc to your ticket); it's about the same price as posting it through the mail. If you get it all in one bag and carry it as if it's not too heavy you will probably be fine.

Thanks for your replies. How much were the exceeding fees? As expensive as in planes?

The charges for extra luggage on train are far less expensive than that on flight.
