i am malaysian,want to know if visa and passport expired in china,can i renew here in china?

I am malaysian and hold a multiple entry for one year.my visa will expired in few month more,becauase my husband is working here,may i know can i do my visa in shanghai when expired?what about renew passport?can i do here or must do in malaysia?
another question is,i and husband will go back to visit family in UK.because the form i need to fill about my status in shanghai,i apply a spouse visa and i get multiple entry(because i know if are apouse,business you just can get multiple,otherwise they just give u single entry).so is that consider spouse visa?i am confuse.
